After a fantastic welcome when the team arrived, the white team followers were able to spend some time with Benzema and Varane at the team camp. Both of them responded to the show of affection by signing autographs and being photographed with fans.
Benzema and Varane were the main attraction in the autograph session which took place in Real Madrid's team hotel in Bilbao. The two French footballers had a great time with the fans, having their photos taken and signing shirts, balls and posters. It was a special event for the forward and the defender, who were shown a lot of affection and all the encouragement possible to face the final stages of the championship. “We are the best. This year we're going to Cibeles. Come on Madrid!”, one fan exclaimed, euphorically.
The general feeling from the fans was one of nervousness and excitement in meeting two of their idols. “It was incredible. To have them so close is amazing", indicated the father of a family of Madrid fans from Bilbao that had gone to the hotel. “Benzema and Varane are two of the stars of the team; we have been very lucky”, another fan pointed out. With respect to predictions about the San Mamés game, the majority were very clear. “We are going to win 0-3, like last year when we won the League. With Cristiano victory is assured", was the bet from an optimistic Madrid fan.
