Toril: “We did a great job defensively on the pitch”

An important away win for Castilla against Recreativo that keeps the team in the middle zone of the classification and brings them closer to their goal of staying out of the drop zone. A match that Toril evaluated in a post-match interview: “We did a great job defensively, they weren’t able to find their pace and they weren’t able to play deep. We were a bit more hesitant on offence in the first half but in the second we came out really aggressively and did much more damage. We were really solid and we waited for our moment to win”.

Castilla picked up a well-deserved win against Recreativo and knew how to keep their lead until the final whistle. “It’s happened on other occasions, we’ve had the score in our favour and in the end we back off in fear of losing that score. We missed two or three clear chances on goal and Recre tried to equalise the match. We let the fear get to us and we backed off but the third goal was definitive, it gave us a sense of calm”, said Toril.

The Castilla coach was pleased with his team’s performance; the Whites were solid on defence and powerful up front: “Recre’s tactics are good, but we did a great job defensively today and they weren’t able to find their pace and they weren’t able to play deep. We were a bit more hesitant on offence in the first half but in the second we came out really aggressively and did much more damage. We were really solid and we waited for our moment to win”.
To conclude, Toril was optimistic ahead of the upcoming match against Mirandes: “We going to try to win at home on Sunday, where, quite frankly, we’re playing really well. With those three points we’ll practically sentence the salvation. We’ll keep working to see if we can manage to stay as far up in the classification as possible”.
